Children from Military Families

Carnagill has a long history of supporting children from military families and we pride ourselves on being part of the wider military community on the Garrison. Moving schools can be a difficult time for children, whether at the beginning of an academic year or mid-year. We have procedures in place to support pupils to settle quickly and make friends. Our Service Pupil Premium is used to provide additional mentoring to check in with our new arrivals and also to prepare those anticipating a coming move. Communication between home and school is paramount; we welcome parents letting us know about changes and upcoming deployments.

While you are with us at Carnagill, our Service Pupil Champion runs activities throughout the school year for our Service pupils, as well as running Coffee Mornings and Holiday activities to support the building of relationships between service families too.

Pupils (service and non-service) also have the opportunity to take part in Garrison-wide events such as Armed Services Day and Remembrance Day.
