Childcare is often a key consideration for parents when choosing a school for their child. Being able to fit around working hours, flexibility and having confidence in the care provided are vital.
Our wrap-around-care, Carnagill Crew, is highly rated by our parents. Open from 7.50 in the morning until 6pm (earlier on a Friday), we create a nurturing, family-like feel helped by having our own building on the school site, Poppies.
We offer a range of session lengths to support parents to access the care they need. Healthy breakfasts and snacks are provided for longer sessions.
Our key focuses are independence and pupil well-being. Activities are free-flow and child-led, with staff seeking to follow the interests of the children. Emphasis is placed on making meaningful links between academic learning and the wider world. Support can be provided with reading and homework.
Our club staff are also key members of school staff. This close relationship between school and club promotes consistency, effective communication and successful transitions.
Quotes from the children:
”It’s not like other clubs…”
“I like how you get to choose what you do. There’s a range of options.”
“The staff there are really kind.”
Quotes from parents:
“A home from home.”
“The breakfast and after school clubs allow myself and my wife to work full time, safe in the knowledge that [our son] is in a safe environment that he enjoys.”
“It’s a safe and educational place they both enjoy going to and it’s fantastic from a parental perspective as the military work commitments can on occasions be unpredictable and last minute.”
